Take it Outside! The Benefits of Exercising Outdoors

Look, we miss having our brick & mortar gym space open, and miss sweatin’ up a storm in there. But while this statewide mandate is still in place, we’ve moved Studio SWEAT out into the streets! Studies have shown that spending time outside is a natural antidepressant, warding off Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) that usually comes upon us when we’ve been inside for too long. Plus, sunshine also increases your body’s serotonin levels, which when combined with the endorphins you get from an outdoor workout – that’s some serious happiness, in chemical form at least.

Connect with Nature

We all can get tied down from time to time. Back to back meetings, stress in the office (especially when that office is at home), and the overall craziness we experience daily can all add up. One of the biggest benefits of working out outside is that it gives you a deep connection with nature, centering you and reducing those annoying stress levels.

We’re all trying to social distance, but seeing our spouse’s face every waking minute can get a bit repetitive (sorry honey!).
